Dry Pack Canning

So for our 1st garage canning project I'm recieving questions regarding more information... so here goes! If you have any other questions either post it in the comments (and anyone who knows the answer - feel free to answer too!) or email me!

__ To start follow the link http://www.4shared.com/file/114885606/fd6870c7/Dry_Pack_Order_Form.html download and print this Dry Pack Order Form. EVEN IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THE DRY PACK GOODS, you still need to order cans, lids, etc...! It is an updated list from the one that I sent around R.S. the prices have changed so print a new one even if you picked one up in R.S.!!!

__ Decide what you would like to dry pack.

__ Mark the quantity of bags of product you want in the "Bulk" section. You can also dry pack any products that are dry pack approved in #10 cans.

__ Make sure that you mark on your order form under "Bulk Packaging Materials" how many cans, metal lids, plastic lids, boxes, or empty can kits that you want to purchase. If you need help deciding how many cans you think you will need you can refer to this link http://www.4shared.com/file/115540745/e9088b17/WorkSheet_for_Dry_Pack_Canning_Orders.html if it is confusing (which it is!) and you could use some help deciphering it call me!

__ Add up the total amounts and write out a check to Garden City Cannery.

__ You then need to get the order form and check to either Chelsea D. or Christine M. before Friday morning! We will be going to the cannery to pick up the canner and any dry pack items, cans, etc. ordered Friday morning.

__ Next call Christine and set up a time to go over and pack your product in #10 cans.

Good luck and call or email with any questions!!
Sincerely,
~ Chelsea

Welcome!

I've been trying to think of a good way to share information with everyone in our ward, and decided to try a blog and see what the response is. I would really like this site to become a place where everyone can share anything relating to provident living and self-reliance. But it will take the participation of all! So please join in and share what ever you can! And keep checking back as new information will be added at least monthly. I will try to have a new area of focus each month to work on, to become a little more self-reliant. And will put up the monthly grocery list for the "Year Supply on $5 a week". If there is something you think would be a good focus area for the month please let me know!

I hope that we can all learn and grow together!
